Storycomic Weekly Newsletter: November 23rd
The issue does a fantastic job of deepening Kahhori’s story, building on her origins while introducing her to new corners of the Marvel Universe. Watching her cross paths with heroes like Daredevil, Echo, and Moon Knight was a treat. Each interaction felt meaningful, and it was clear the creative team went above and beyond to ensure her character remained authentic and true to her roots.

The characters are still as likable as ever, with their quirky dynamics and individual arcs. But the new series feels overwhelmed by its ambition to craft yet another epic storyline. While the dramatic beginnings and large-scale mysteries are intriguing, they often overshadow the more personal, meaningful moments that made the Guardians special in the first place.

This past week I read the trade paperback of the Marvel Comics event from 2006 and 2007. Even over 10 years later, the storyline is still relevant; where we can see that conflict does not need to be good versus evil, wrong versus right, but competing ideologies. Now that I’ve read this again after I’ve watched the MCU version of this storyline via ‘Captain America 3’;

The story felt rushed and honestly didn’t do much for me. Instead of concentrating on character development, it seemed like the writer, Kelly Thompson was shoehorned to start some meta plot story seeds for the larger Marvel Comics universe.
