Project Update: Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Not much to report this week, but there’s still been some progress! Daddest Jokes continues to move forward bit by bit, with small refinements here and there. Every little step is progress, and it’s all coming together slowly but surely.

Appliance remains on the backburner for now, waiting for its time to shine when things settle down a bit. Even though it’s been a slower period, I’m staying focused and optimistic about what’s ahead. Thanks for sticking with me as these projects inch forward!

Review of Kahhori: Reshaper of Worlds #1

When Kahhori made her debut in the What If...? animated series last year, I was immediately drawn to her as a character. Her strength, determination, and connection to her heritage were refreshing, and she left a lasting impression on me. So, when I spotted Kahhori: Reshaper of Worlds #1 at my local comic book shop last week, I couldn’t resist picking it up—and I’m so glad I did.

The issue does a fantastic job of deepening Kahhori’s story, building on her origins while introducing her to new corners of the Marvel Universe. Watching her cross paths with heroes like Daredevil, Echo, and Moon Knight was a treat. Each interaction felt meaningful, and it was clear the creative team went above and beyond to ensure her character remained authentic and true to her roots.

The writing by Ryan Little, along with the contributions from Indigenous creators Arihhonni "Honni" David and Kelly Lynne D'Angelo, brings a richness to the story. The artwork by Todd Harris, David Cutler, and Jim Terry is equally impressive, perfectly capturing both the epic scale of her quest and the quiet moments of reflection.

Kahhori: Reshaper of Worlds #1 is not just a great superhero story—it’s a celebration of culture, identity, and the idea that new heroes can stand shoulder to shoulder with Marvel’s biggest names. Whether you’re already a fan of Kahhori or meeting her for the first time, this is an issue worth picking up. It left me excited for what the future holds for this incredible character.

Personal Update: A Week of Festivities and Final Touches

This week was packed with both work and some festive fun! At the station, we’ve been busy finalizing our holiday greetings, ensuring everything is lined up for the season. It’s a rewarding task, knowing these messages will bring some cheer to our listeners.

For my Outdoor Edge show, I took a trip to a reindeer farm here in Vermont. It was a magical experience, and I’m excited to include it in our Christmas-themed episode coming this December. I also recorded an interview for the Thanksgiving episode, focused on wild game recipes. It’s shaping up to be a deliciously unique take on holiday traditions.

On Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend the Vermont Association of Broadcasters awards gala. I brought a group of employees along, and it was a fantastic evening. It’s not every day I get to suit up, so it was a nice change of pace to dress up and celebrate with the team.

All in all, it’s been a productive and enjoyable week, balancing creative projects with opportunities to connect and reflect on the work we’ve been doing. The holiday spirit is definitely starting to build!

Elizabeth got to meet the reindeer!
