Podcast Updates

I had a couple of fun interviews this past week.  We are excited to have with us the highly renowned and Award Winning Vermont Author, Stephen Harris. He came on the show to talk about his book: ‘No Excuses’.  We talked about his World War One historical biographies as well.

I learned so much from Stephen and am looking forward to having him come on again.

On Thursday, We had back with us the acclaimed writer of comics and award-winning author, Stephanie Nina Pitsirilos!

She was here to talk about her latest book from Janus Point called ‘The Funeral Singer’,

Project Updates

I was plugging away more on my ‘Appliance’ game and had some fun working on the specifics of each object family.  As I was writing this, it occurred to me, that if an object makes any grievous offenses that defy the rules of their family, they can be ostracized.  I then had to create a category of objects that fit this.  This is where ‘The Vagrant’ category has been created.

All objects are brought into a family upon awakening, but they might not stay with their family for their entire life. This might be reasons related to not being a cultural fit, or their views on their purpose is more aligned with another family.

There are also times when an object is excommunicated from a family due to severe misconduct.  Depending on the severity of the transgression, an object could be unwanted by all other families. The object could also choose not to be affiliated with a family, although this is rare.

An object without a family is called ‘Vagrant’.  Vagrants do not survive very long.  Without the support of a family, they can be easily forgotten and thrown away.

What I’m reading

It took a bit, but I was able to finish the 200-plus page graphic novel from Chris Sahloff’s company, Home, ‘CRIT: Intestinal Fortitude’.  It is a fun story so far and it is very clear that Chris had a very fun time putting the book together.  It reads much like its source of inspiration, and that is of a role-playing game campaign in comic book form.

One of my favorite things about this is the repartee between characters.  It is reminiscent of the 90s in the sense that the original Image Comics superhero teams were built from a similar story premise and the 90s movies were also a great era of witty banter.

I am looking forward to the next book.

Personal Updates

Autumn is here, the leaves are starting to fall and the nights are getting delightfully cold again.  I sleep so much better when I’m snuggled inside blankets.  Not cold enough to turn on the heat, and not humid enough to have to empty out the dehumidifiers every day.

It was another weekend of going out on adventures with the girls.  We stopped by the Harvest Festival at Underhill and I am continuing to repair small things around the house in preparation of hunkering down for the winter.

I took part in the St Johnsbury Alzheimer’s Walk this week!

Fun Daddy / Daughters Time!
