Podcast Updates
This past week was quiet for podcasts. I did have one scheduled to record on Tuesday but ended up having to cancel due to a medical procedure (see: Personal Updates)
Project Updates
Happy to say that I have finally finished drawing up all 25 background images for my Dad Jokes book that I hope to get published this year. Now the next step is to teach me Adobe InDesign! I tried to make all my backgrounds touch on all dad themes, including non-stereotypical ones.
The full gallery of all 25 images is available on Patreon.
What I’m reading
A few months ago I interviewed Ben Wright-Heuman regarding his upcoming comic anthology, ‘Less Than Secret’. Very excited to receive the book in the mail last week. I am quickly becoming a fan of comic anthologies and this did not disappoint. The book consists of 7 stories, each one doing its own interpretation of a cryptid. Some stories are fun, others are kind of dark, but I really enjoyed seeing innovative versions of these monsters, and was happy to learn about new ones as well.
For those who like to read about mythical monsters and those who are avid comic anthology readers, this is a great book.
Personal Updates
Now that I’m 45, I went and got my colonoscopy done on Tuesday. I surprised the nurses when I requested that I wanted it done without any medication. Turns out about 1 in 30 patients do it like that. It was uncomfortable but being awake and aware of the procedure allowed me to watch the whole trip through the colon. It was exciting to see parts of my body I normally do not see. I got a clean bill of health afterward.
Despite having a bit of lightheadedness, a couple of days later from dehydration, it was a fine procedure, and recommend anyone over the age of 45 to get their colonoscopy.
In other good news, I’m down to 213 pounds so far!
