Podcast Updates
It was a really exciting last part of the week with 2 back to back interviews. On Thursday night, I was excited to have with us the creative team of ‘Bardic Verses’, Matt Summo & Pete Collins! Then on Friday morning, I had a friend from England join me. The acclaimed, award-winning, and inspirational author, Vie Portland came on the show.
She is here to talk about her latest children’s book, ‘Where Are We Going’ and her recent successful crowdfunded books, ‘Who Am I’ and ‘Kinder Happier You’
Project Updates
This past week, I was able to layout all 175 pages of my Dad Joke book and filled in the first 19 pages. Once all the jokes are placed, I might have to do some moving of some puns to make sure they match with the corresponding background image if needed. I’m very excited to see this come together eventually. I have not published a book in about 5 years.
What I’m reading
I got on interlibrary loan the 1984 children’s book, “Trouble for Trumpets.” The book has never been reprinted and is incredibly hard to find. When I do find it on Amazon or eBay, it usually runs for around $800.
It is a really fun book written by Peter Dallas – Smith and illustrated by the amazing Peter Cross. I did reach out to Peter a few months ago to see if he wanted to come on to the show, but I was honored that he responded with a rejection.
The book is a mix of children’s fantasy about a miniature world of tiny orange hippo creatures along with some education on flora and fauna that can be found in our backyard. I hope very much that this book is reprinted so a new generation of children can enjoy it.
Personal Updates
This past week I did more promoting of our agency’s upcoming Cerebral Palsy Conference by being a guest on a few podcasts.
On the Lego Hobby side of things, I have been putting together more sets to resell on eBay. It is a slow journey, but I do enjoy the searching and puzzling together of the entire process.
I’m also doing well with my Noom journey. I’m now down to 211 lbs! positive psychology is so fun!
