ALWAYS POSTED A WEEK EARLIER ON PATREON

Podcast Updates

It was another 3-podcast week. On Saturday we live-streamed another episode on Nerd Stock Talk. We chatted about socially responsible investing.

Then on Tuesday, I was excited to have with us is the talented creative team, Andre Owens and John Crosby. They were here to talk to us about their newest Kickstarter, Sisters of Power: The futuristic adventures of an all-women's detective agency on Earth's rebellious moon facing galactic threats.

Then on Thursday, I was excited to have back with us is the internationally acclaimed cartoonist and educator Marek Bennett.

We spent the entire hour talking about a cartoonist creator’s role in making a biographical graphic novel.

Project Updates

This week I worked more on my Sidekick script by working on the Save The Cat program. Also listening to the audiobook of it is keeping me excited and motivated.

I also have been drawing with my daughters almost every day too.

What I’m reading

This past week I read Eddie Pittman’s “Red’s Planet” Volume 2. Despite that I never read part one, Pittman did a really good job easing the reader into the story by alluding to what happened in part one while still making part 2 its own stand-alone story. The characters were not overly unique but were a fun read none of less. Pittman has a history of working for Disney and his cartooning style is heavily influenced by it. This is good since his style immediately feels familiar.

Personal Updates

This past week I had Tuesday off because in Vermont we had Town Meeting day. It kind of threw off my work routine. Days off on a Monday or a Friday is a bit easier to mentally manage. This week I finally got my new computer. I was happy. My old computer did not necessarily die on me, but since it was around 10 years old, I could see that there were the beginnings of issues with it slowing down and I sensed it was on its last legs.

Of course, when I installed my new one, I took a couple of days in rediscovering where my files were (I moved my hard drives over to my new computer) and had to reinstall all my programs.

On my new computer, I hooked up 3 monitors and I am experiencing a bit of sensory overload now! I’m sure, I’ll eventually get used to it.

More good news: we now have 2:36 minutes of extra daylight!
