Project Updates

I’m slowly plugging away at collecting proverbs for my proverbs book while teaching myself Indesign.

I’m now also getting back to re-drawing my old comics from high school.  I’ll be sure to share a few of those images soon.

What I’m reading

This week I finally got in the mail the last issues I needed so I could read Part 12 – 22 of the X-men event “Ten of Swords”.  Since I am only a year or so back into reading comics, I got the strong impression that this event has set up some significant story seeds for the future.

Ultimately this event was building Apocalypse as a flawed hero by giving him the opportunity to make sacrifices for all of the mutants while also giving us a fully realized background and history.

There was also some good character development for other people including Cypher and Cable.

All in all, this has basically cemented my decision to drift from following the X-men.  I’ll see what happens with the 3 titles I have still subscribed to; X-men, X-force, and Mauraders to get a better understanding of the fallout from the event.

Personal Updates

This week was week 2 of daily trips to the doctor’s office with a loved one.  As I mentioned last week, I’m sure as soon as it becomes a habit to make this trip, it will be over.  It’s only for 4 weeks, but I’m actually really enjoying spending this time with her in the car.

Since the pandemic started, we really haven’t had enough time to be alone together with the kids running around. Another plus for me is that we leave early in the morning, and we are back home by 9:30 am.  There is a little disruption with my job and I’m a morning person anyway!

Also:  1:13 extra minutes of daylight!
