Storycomic Weekly Newsletter: November 14th
Podcast Updates
This week we had no interviews. We had one planned to talk with Jane Albright, the president of the International Wizard of Oz Club, which I’m really excited about, but we were not able to connect in time for our Thursday live stream. We’ll reschedule.
Project Updates
2 things that I’m slowly working on right now as I sketch and work with the 6-year-old on school assignments. One is that Exclamation book and the other is doing some rewriting of the first issue of 2 Years. The Exclamation book is just going to be a fun side project book, whereas the 2 Years book will be the more professional-level project that I will try to do a Kickstarter with.
What I’m reading
I just read Volume 1 of The Autumnlands by Kurt Busiek and Benjamin Drew. I really enjoyed the talking animals’ setting and the world is established. There is some insinuation that the world is our own far-flung future and I like the story so much I went ahead and found Volume 2 online and purchased it.
For anyone who enjoys politics, drama, and action set in a fantasy background, I highly recommend it.
Personal Updates
This past week I finally bit the bullet and sent in some of my more collectible comic books to get pressed and graded with the Certified Guaranty Company (CGC). This will allow me to then sell them at a much higher amount since they will be objectively valued. It will take a few months to get them all returned, but when they do, I’ll maybe do an unboxing video for it.
