Podcast Updates
There were two fantastic folks I got to interview this week.
The Tuesday interview was with illustrator and graphic designer, Ryan Tavarez, of tavarezart.com
We talked about his newest Kickstarter project, Nomads Volume 1, which was successfully funded and he is heading to be 200% funded.
On Thursday we interviewed the famous publisher and game designer, Banana Chan. We had so much fun chatting. Her expertise extends to both tabletop and live-action role-playing. Banana has written for tabletop RPGs such as Kids on Bikes, Jiangshi, and a multitude of other stories and collections.
Project Updates
Did some more drawings while working with the little one on her school work. Drawing both for the exclamations book and the princess board game.
I also found some of the initial write up that I did with the “Appliance” roleplaying game. Now I just need to decipher how I designed the game system.
What I’m reading
I just finished reading the first six issues of the new Guardians of the Galaxy series. Al Ewing is the writer for it and I have to say, this is the first time, I think, that I’ve read his stuff, and I really liked it.
The series so far is reminiscent of James Gunn’s film with how both successfully interweave a compelling storyline with the complexity of multiple character development arcs.
If you are a fan of space-level Marvel Comics and fun characters to read about, I will recommend this series.
Personal Updates
I’m now looking at the back end of my three weeks off for paternity leave and realized that I really haven’t worked on any of my projects, but have been spending some great time with my daughters, so honestly, it was paternity leave well spent.
