Storycomic Weekly Newsletter: December 5th
Podcast Updates
This week we had Episode 47 of ‘Storycomic Presents’ where we interviewed Scott Harris, acclaimed writer and artist of the Crime Busters comic book series. He has his 3rd issue out on Kickstarter, which I happily backed since I already have issues 1 and 2.
It was great to talk about the golden age of comics with him and discuss his plans for 30 issues of the series.
Project Updates
It’s been a slow week due to Thanksgiving and the new World of Warcraft expansion launch, but I was able to do a bit more on my 2 Years intro script.
What I’m reading
I finished reading Volume 2 of Autumnlands and it was interesting. As someone who ingests a lot of binge television, watching entire seasons at a time, I cannot help but to draw similarities between graphic novel volumes and show seasons.
The first volume set up the world and was heavy with intrigue and court politics, whereas volume two is a magical travel adventure that dives deeper into the world. It ends with more questions than answers.
From what I read, Volume 3 is yet to come out.
Personal Updates
Doing some fall cleaning so I’ve been unloading old roleplaying game books and old board games on Ebay.
I also have been getting back out and doing my long walks. This has been great for my mental health and has allowed me to do a lot more thinking.
The big thing (besides Thanksgiving) that happened this week is that the new World of Warcraft expansion launched, which has eaten up a big chunk of my time.
