Storycomic Weekly Newsletter: December 12th
Podcast Updates
This past Tuesday I chatted with Ryan Haack, the host of the FAR-FETCHED STORYTELLING PODCAST the creator of the web-comic the UNSPEAKABLE TEXT, and acclaimed writer and Creator of BRIC-A-BRAC: A Fantasy Christmas Story.
We had a great time talking about his Christmas story and chatting about all things Santa Claus.
Project Updates
It’s been a slow week for the projects, and I mostly blame the new World of Warcraft expansion for that. I have been able to play around a bit with the updated 2 Years script.
What I’m reading
This past week I read the first eleven of the 22 issue X-Men cross-over event, X of Swords.
There is no specific groundbreaking storytelling here, but I am enjoying how Hickman is establishing a deeper mutant mythos within the Marvel Universe.
In a nutshell, the storyline is a contest of champions with 10 x-men defending an invading army with their 10 champions. Obviously, the fate of the earth is at stake.
Once the story is all over, I’ll be curious to see what, if any, lasting repercussions will be in the Marvel Universe.
Personal Updates
So this past week has been a little adventure with my foray into eBay sales. This past Monday, I put out 3 packages for USPS to pick up, and then a UPS truck drove by and picked them up instead. Needless to say, I made phone calls to try and find the packages, and I was assured that they were brought to the post office on my behalf, but as of this past Friday there were no updates on the package tracking, so I had to refund the folks for the packages. Here’s hoping that they will get delivered and that the customers will pay me again if they do get delivered.
I also have been plugging away at the new World of Warcraft expansion. So far, I’ve been having fun with it.
