Podcast Updates
This was a good week of podcast interviews. On Tuesday I was able to chat with game designers, Banana Chan and Tim Devine. They talked about their widely anticipated Kickstarter, Questlings - A Children's Book Series, and RPG Adventure.
On Thursday I had with me, Liana Brooks, international bestselling Science Fiction and Romance Author
She is best known for her enemies-to-lovers Science Fiction Romance including the delightful Heroes and Villains series and the space opera series, Fleet of Malik.
She talked about her latest paranormal romance novella, ‘All I Want for Christmas is a Reaper’, which is part of her ‘All I Want for Christmas’ series which will be out in December.
Project Updates
I chipped away at doing my second draft of 2 Years. I redrew the first page. Realized that I drew it over 18 years ago while I was living in a mud hut in Africa. Also, there was ten years difference between the first page and the last page, so not only do I need to be sure that the story is readable for everyone, but I also want to be sure that the drawing style is not too different throughout the book. Redrawing the first page will help.
What I’m reading
This week I finally cracked open my copy of the ‘Autumn Grey’ graphic novel. It was written and illustrated by Jay Mooers. I met him at the Vermont Comic-Con a couple of years back and we did a graphic novel trade. Two of my books for one of his. His book was sitting on the shelf for a while, so I decided to finally read it this past week. What a fun story. My first impression review of the book is that it is a good cross between Twin Peaks and Stardust.
I really like the characters he has created. I really like to see where the story is going to go.
Personal Updates
Long days of work and I started going on afternoon walks again. Over the last several months, I’ve been doing laps around the block to get my steps in, but for a change of pace, I’ve ventured back out onto the town walking trails. The change of scenery is good and I’m also very inspired by seeing so many people wearing masks as well.
In the spring I bought a giant tub of Legos from someone selling them locally on Facebook. Unfortunately, they did not come with any existing references to what Lego sets they belong to. With the help of two websites, I’ve been able to compile some of these Lego sets. Bricksets.com allows me to do a search on some specific pieces to determine what sets they belong to and Bricklink.com allows me to buy individual missing pieces to complete the sets. So far, it looks like I have some Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, and Lord of the Rings Lego sets.
