Project Update: Final Draft Edits for Daddest Jokes
Progress continues as I’m still busy working on the final draft edit of Daddest Jokes! This stage of the process is all about polishing the jokes, ensuring everything flows smoothly, and getting the manuscript ready for the next steps.
It’s been a fun but meticulous process, and I’m excited to see the book coming together. Each edit brings me closer to the finished product, and I can’t wait to share these groan-worthy dad jokes with everyone.
Thanks for sticking with me during this journey—more updates to come as I get closer to wrapping up the draft!
What I’m reading: Destination Moon
Destination Moon takes Tintin and his friends to the cutting edge of adventure—outer space! Hergé crafts a tale that's as thrilling as it is technically fascinating, proving once again why Tintin is a timeless classic.
The story kicks off with Tintin, Captain Haddock, and Snowy joining Professor Calculus in the picturesque and secretive Syldavian Space Center, where an ambitious plan to send humans to the Moon is underway. From the detailed illustrations of the rocket's construction to the clever depiction of espionage attempts, every panel brims with meticulous research and Hergé’s signature humor. It’s a gripping blend of intrigue and innovation as the team faces sabotage, mistrust, and plenty of Haddock's grumbling—thankfully punctuated by his colorful vocabulary!
What makes Destination Moon shine is how Hergé balances the scientific realism with the charm and quirks we love from the series. The artwork is stunning, with the rocket design and space center interiors making you feel like you’ve stepped into a retro-futuristic dream. And let's not forget the laugh-out-loud moments sprinkled throughout, reminding us that even with a Moon mission at stake, there’s always room for a bit of silliness.
This book is not just a gateway to Tintin's next adventure (Explorers on the Moon), but also a love letter to the dreams of space exploration that captivated minds in the 20th century—and still do today. Whether you’re a long-time Tintin fan or a newcomer to the series, Destination Moon is a blast in every sense of the word. A must-read for anyone who loves science, mystery, and good old-fashioned fun!
Personal Update: A Busy, Positive Week
This past week was packed with long days, but it was a rewarding one overall. We had three basketball games to broadcast, which kept things busy, and I also hosted another Outdoor Edge show. I’m thrilled to share that it ended up being my most listened-to episode so far! It’s exciting to see that show gaining traction.
On the sales front, I had some mild success with bringing new clients on the air this week, which felt like a step in the right direction. Work-wise, it was a very positive week full of momentum and progress.
On the home front, I had a blast with the kids this weekend. I introduced them to the Ghostbusters movies, and we watched the classics from 1984 and 1989 together. Sharing those nostalgic films with them was such a fun experience—they loved the humor and the ghosts (and I loved seeing their reactions!).
It was definitely a week of balancing the busy work schedule with making time for family, and I’m happy with how it all came together. Here’s to keeping up the good energy in the weeks ahead!
