This Week on Storycomic Presents: From Coming-of-Age Novels to Fantasy Worlds

Hello, Storycomic Presents fans! I'm your host, Barney Smith, and I'm thrilled to share with you the highlights of two incredible interviews we had this week. We explored the worlds of both literature and tabletop gaming, diving deep into the creative minds behind them.

Episode 314: A Reason to Run with Mike Magluilo

Our first guest was the nationally acclaimed and award-winning author Mike Magluilo. He joined us to discuss his compelling coming-of-age novel, 'A Reason to Run.' Set in 1980s suburban Chicago, the book follows the life of Sam Bagliarello, a teenager who finds solace and purpose in competitive running after a life-altering accident. Mike shared insights into the themes of family dynamics, resilience, and the transformative power of sports. For more on Mike and his work, visit his website or check out 'A Reason to Run' on his publisher's site.

Episode 315: Drintera with Andrew Gronosky

In our second episode, we welcomed back Andrew Gronosky, the game designer behind the best-selling FATE Core system game, Magonomia. Andrew introduced us to his latest project, Drintera—a system-independent fantasy world for tabletop roleplaying games. Inspired by heroic epics like Beowulf and The Odyssey, Drintera is a world where magic is as unpredictable as myth. Andrew discussed the endless possibilities for heroic quests in this unique setting. For details, visit Shewstone Publishing or check out their Patreon page for Drintera for world-building updates.

Both interviews offer a captivating look into the worlds of literature and gaming, showcasing the depth and diversity of storytelling in different mediums. Whether you're a fan of coming-of-age stories or love diving into new fantasy worlds, this week's episodes have something for everyone. Don't miss out; tune in now!

That wraps up another week of fascinating interviews on Storycomic Presents. Stay tuned for more compelling conversations with amazing storytellers and artists!

📢 Kickstarter Update: Proof Book Arrival and Some Exciting Tweaks! 📢

I'm excited to share a significant milestone in our 'Dadder Jokes' journey – the proof copy of the book has arrived, and it's looking fantastic overall! 😄

Having the physical copy in my hands has been an incredible moment, and I'm so grateful for your support in bringing this project to life. The book is a testament to the power of laughter and the special bond between parents and children.

However, as with any creative endeavor, there's always room for a few tweaks to ensure that 'Dadder Jokes' is the absolute best. I'll make some refinements to enhance the reading experience and ensure the humor shines even brighter.

I'm particularly excited about matching the book's spines to create a cohesive and visually appealing set. This will add that extra touch of charm to your bookshelves!

Your support and patience have been incredible, and I'm committed to delivering a book that exceeds your expectations. Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I can't wait to share the final result with you.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the finish line. Together, we're creating something truly special.

Personal Update: Embarking on a New Chapter

On a positive note, I recently bid farewell to Leafguard, my previous workplace. To ensure a seamless transition, I extended my stay a bit longer, and I officially wrapped up my time with them last Friday.

I am fully immersed in an exhilarating new chapter—running my radio station. The opportunity to be at the helm of my own business, especially one that aligns perfectly with my passions, is a dream come true.

In these early days, I've been hard at work revamping our website and rejuvenating our social media presence to connect more deeply with our audience. And the thrill of hiking up to our radio tower, a tangible symbol of the exciting journey ahead, was an unforgettable experience.

This new adventure underscores the incredible power of pursuing one's dreams with unwavering dedication. It serves as a reminder that we can shape our destinies with vision, determination, and hard work.

I'm deeply grateful for the support and encouragement from friends and family as I embark on this exciting journey. While the road ahead holds opportunities and challenges, I'm ready to face them enthusiastically and resilient.
