Podcast Updates

This past week was full of interviews.  I record a whopping four this past week. 

On Tuesday, Matt Wolf came back on the show for a third time; earning the distinction of being labeled, ‘Friend of the Show’ the award-winning fantasy author was here to talk about his latest book of his newest series, Skythief - book 1 of the Realm Walker series.  The Kickstarter for it will be launching on July 19th.

On Thursday, Caleb Palmquist came back on the show for the fifth time; being the first person to be on the show for five times.  He has earned the inaugural honor of being in the ‘Five-Timers Club’ He was here to talk about his latest Kickstarter Unicorn: Vampire Hunter #1-5.  An all-ages fantasy adventure about a unicorn who hunts vampires. With this Kickstarter, he is releasing issues 4 and 5 together.

Then on Saturday, I had two back-to-back pre-recorded interviews. 

The first one was with the renowned and wildly creative multimedia storyteller, Mel Cartagena!

He was here to talk about his latest project, The Plot, a science fiction/suspense comic book.  I really enjoyed learning more about his style and how he set up the design of his comic from a filmmaker’s perspective.

My second pre-recorded interview after that was with the internationally acclaimed and celebrated comic book writer and podcaster,  Samuel George London. He was here to talk about his best-selling works, Milford Green, S-Factor, and Project Hoax. We also chat a bit about his successful podcast, Comics For The Apocalypse.

Project Updates

This past week I was plugging along again on my Warcraft / Investing Youtube script and found a really cool website program called copy.ai that will rewrite your script a bit to change the theme of your script.  For example; it can make what you wrote more adventurous or instructive.

I am also utilizing it for my ‘Appliance’ write-ups as well.

What I’m reading

I got in the mail, my copy of ‘Journey To The Top Of The Food Pyramid’ by Christian Ochoa and immediately sat down and read the 32-page story.

It was fun and educational along with being a quick and engaging read.  I love how Christian set up the world and all the different species that were found by the main characters so far.  I am very excited to see what each level of the pyramid brings.

The most engaging part of the book that I found, as a creator, was the bonus materials at the end of the story.  Christian added 60 + pages of behind-the-scenes information and tutorial supplements to show the readers how he built his team and how he created the story.  I really enjoyed seeing all the steps it took to get to a final product.

Personal Updates

First of all, I doubled down on my Lego organizing this week by clearing off and categorizing more Lego pieces.  The objective is to make it a bit easier to sort and assemble collectable sets that I might realize I have.  Also, it will go far in cleaning up my downstairs office.

It was also very nice out all week, not to hot.  Not too cold.  The kiddos spent a lot of time exploring the backyard and having fun chasing each other.  The girls and I sat outside in our front yard this past Monday night to watch the fireworks.  We are very fortunate to be able to see them from our house.  I did realize also that the kids need to spend more time outside, generally speaking.  Our middle child was bit my a mosquito and she cried out “I just got stung by a night bee!”
