Podcast Updates

This past week, I added 2 more shows to the Storycomic library. On Tuesday, I had a great time chatting with the worldwide celebrated and talented comic creator, Curtis Clow.

He talked about his latest Kickstarter: Slightly Exaggerated #1-4: A Treasure Hunt Fantasy Adventure.

Then on Thursday, Dylan Goss came back on the show. We were fortunate to have premiere access to his first Kickstarter, Mara #1; days before it goes live.

Project Updates

Since we spent the week on vacation, there were few updates on personal projects. I did, however, have the fortune of my friend and accomplished comic creator, Greg Giordano updating my logo!

What I’m reading

This past week, in preparation for my chat with Curtis Clow, I read the first four issues of his famed series ‘Beastlands’ which has been picked up for distribution by Darkhorse Comics.

Curtis likens his series to a cross between Pokémon and Game of Thrones. This is a fairly accurate claim. There is an adult level of violence found in the latter reference, but the theme of people having magical pet companions is reminiscent of the ’90s card game and cartoon.

Curtis has a unique storytelling style that weaves adult themes into fantastical story settings. ‘Beastlands’ is a perfect example of this.

Personal Updates

Last week the family and I went on vacation to Nova Scotia! Despite the 11-hour drive each way (Not very pleasant with a 20-month-old in the van) we had a great time seeing lighthouses, and the ocean, and enjoying the joys of sourdough glazed doughnuts from Tim Hortons.

I was very pleased with my weight loss journey so far, as I stayed under 186 pounds when we came back.
