ALWAYS POSTED A WEEK EARLIER ON PATREON

Podcast Updates

Due to a little time zone communication challenge, I was unable to have my Tuesday interview, so we only had one show this week.

This past Thursday, we were excited to have with us the acclaimed and inspirational author, Ginny Sassaman!

She talked about her award-winning book, Preaching Happiness: Creating a Just and Joyful World

Project Updates

I’m excited to say that I have finished my 6-page Sheena story for the public domain anthology project.  It came out well, and I will be sharing the story first with my Patreon backers.

I am now working on a new project that should not take me too long to get together.

I just must teach myself Adobe InDesign…

What I’m reading

This past week I read the DC Comics 1988 mini-series “The Weird”.  With the Big Two publishers, I have been recently gravitating to stand-alone stories and so I discovered this four-issue mini-series.

It was your standard alien invasion story that was a little reminiscent of how the Crisis of Infinite Earths started; a pariah arrives to warn earth of an invasion.

I did appreciate how this was a stand-alone storyline as the main protagonist dies at the end, and to my recollection, DC comics have only brought The Weird back once since 1988.

Nothing overly groundbreaking about the story, but it was nice to see a storyline involving the new Justice League roster in a separate setting.

Personal Updates

It was my birthday.  Another year older, and I am happy and grateful for where my life is now.  3 great kids, amazing wife, great job, all around gratefulness.

I also started digging through my comics to find key issues that I could send to CGC to get slabbed.  That project, plus putting together old Lego sets has kept me busy this week.
