Project Updates
This past week I worked more on the Sheena project. I’m excited with how the images are coming out and once it is flatted, I’m going to shade it, then export it to photoshop to add in the words. Once that happens, I am going to share a time-lapse video of the entire process.
What I’m reading
I am rediscovering the quaint nostalgia of 1950s storybook collections. Although they are way before my time, I’m fascinated with older children’s books. The illustrations of each story is different and is very much reminiscent of today’s anthology books.
The Story Hour by Standard Education Society is what I read this past week. It is a collection of fables, stories, and poems. Some of them do not translate well to the modern audience, but most are just as imaginative and magical as anything a child would read now.
Personal Updates
This past 4th of July we enjoyed a parade and fireworks. The benefit of living smack dab in the middle of a small town is that the parade was just at the end of our street and the fireworks could be seen from our front yard.
We also went to a perennial tea garden and the girls enjoyed it very much.
