ALWAYS POSTED A WEEK EARLIER ON PATREON

Podcast Updates

I decided to put Nerd Stock Talk on a bit of a hiatus and concentrate more on my masthead podcast, but I’ll probably do more of it with specific topics in mind.

But this past Tuesday, we were honored to have back with us, Tony McMillen, He's the creator behind the heavy metal horror novel An Augmented Fourth, the sci-fi fantasy graphic novel Lumen, Serious Creatures; his comic book series about a teenage special fx artist working in Hollywood, and now Attaboy! An oversized treasury edition graphic novel disguised as a video game instruction manual!

Then on Thursday, we were excited to have with us the acclaimed and award-winning paranormal romance author, Melissa Sercia!

 Project Updates

This past week I worked a bit more on Sister Kittens and turned my attention back to my Sheena project as well. The Sheena project is part of a Kickstarter Anthology project based on modernizing public domain characters.  I am going to get this all done in a couple of weeks.

What I’m reading

2021-07-02_15-09-03_804.JPEG

To give me a bit more inspiration for the public domain project, I dug out the 1976 book, ‘Secret Origins of the Super DC Heroes.  It is mostly a collection of reprinted origin comics of 10 major DC characters back in the ’30s and ’40s.

The artwork, writing style, and layout of the panels are great examples of the golden age of comics.  The book contains 18 reprinted stories.  These are always fun and nostalgic reads.

Personal Updates

2021-07-03_09-21-37_000.png

I was doing so well during the pandemic regarding my weight.  I was one of the minorities that lost weight during the year at home.  This was mostly due to not being subjected to junk food at the office.  That along with some generalized anxiety, helped me lose 10 pounds.

Now that I have been back to the office for almost 2 months, I have seen the number on the scale start to creep back up.  I decided to break out an old diet standby that helps me reset.  It is the Military Diet.

It is three days of strict food torture that I performed upon myself and was able to jump-start my healthy eating habits again and lost 4 pounds to boot too!
