Podcast Updates

This past week I had a couple of fun interviews. On Tuesday, I was happy to have the acclaimed Urban Fantasy Author, and host of the Solo Nerd Bird Podcast, KS Garner come on. I discovered her through one of my previous guests, Bill Gosline.  We chatted about her book series and the fun and engaging podcast that she hosts, the Solo Nerd Bird podcast.

On Thursday, I was very fortunate and honored to have on the show, the internationally acclaimed, Eisner nominated, and award-winning comic creator, Scott Chantler !  he provided some good insight on the power of panels, layouts, and had some great tips for new and seasoned comic creators.

Project Updates

I am not going to even pretend I worked on projects this past week.  It was a quick workweek.  One of those weeks that I blinked at it was over.

What I’m reading

Very excited to get in the mail Caroline and Katherine Brickley’s latest book in the mail: The Friendly Bookshelf.  We had them on the show a few months back during the book’s Kickstarter.

I immediately pushed the book to the front of the line on my two daughters’ bedtime book pile and we read it last night.

The Brickley Sisters have a great concept about a children’s book about a bookshelf.  The innovative character concept, matched with a heartfelt message to young readers: “Everyone has a story” makes this book an instant classic and must-have in every library.

Personal Updates

It finally happened! I went below 200 pounds in over 25 years!  The scale says I am 198 pounds.  My next goal is to get down to 193.  Once I hit that point, I will have then officially lost 30 pounds since I started my Noom journey.

I was very excited to register my 7 and 5-year-old to get their COVID shot.  We are almost at the end of this.

I worked more on whittling down my Lego sets.  I am trying to average out posting 3 new Lego sets a week on eBay.  I mentioned in earlier blog posts, this is more of an active hobby of building back Lego sets and finding missing pieces and ordering them online, and selling the completed sets.

This is not a money-making endeavor really, but more of a puzzle hobby/scavenger hunt / nostalgia-inducing pass time.

Getting ready for Trick-or-Treating!
