Podcast Update: A Holiday Break with a Purpose
This is my couple of weeks off from recording new podcast episodes, giving me a chance to relax a bit during the holiday season. It’s always nice to take a breather and enjoy some downtime, but I’m still planning to make the most of this time.
My focus will be on catching up with the backlog of uploads for my two other podcasts. It’s something that’s been on my to-do list for a while, and this quieter period is the perfect opportunity to tackle it.
While it feels a little strange to step back from recording, I know this time off will help me recharge and get organized for the new year. Thanks to everyone for tuning in and supporting the shows—it means the world! Stay tuned for fresh content and updates soon.
Project Update: Progress on Editing
This week, I made some progress on Daddest Jokes! I’ve been diving into the editing process, fine-tuning the content to make sure everything is polished and ready for the next steps. It’s been rewarding to see the book take shape, one joke at a time, as I work on getting it closer to completion.
On the other hand, Appliance didn’t see any updates this week. With so much focus on editing Daddest Jokes and juggling other responsibilities, it’s taken a backseat for now.
Still, I’m happy to see progress happening, even if it’s just one project at a time. Slow and steady wins the race, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward! Thanks for following along on this creative journey. 😊
What I’m reading
"Underground Kingdom" from the iconic "Choose Your Own Adventure" series is a classic gem that stands out as one of the pioneering titles from 1983. This book offers a thrilling dive into the depths of a fantastical underground world, where every decision you make can lead to dramatically different outcomes. What truly makes this book special is its ability to engage readers of all ages in crafting their unique stories, turning each page with anticipation and excitement.
Reading "Underground Kingdom" with my kids was a delightful experience; it was their first foray into the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books, and it couldn't have been more enchanting. The choices are engaging, the stakes are high, and the adventures are limitless, providing a fantastic bonding activity that sparked their imaginations and introduced them to the joy of interactive storytelling.
As a Vermont-based podcast, we have a particular fondness for Chooseco, the local company behind these revolutionary books. We've had the pleasure of featuring several of their authors on our show, discussing the impact and creative process behind these adventures. It's inspiring to support a Vermont-based business that has brought so much joy and innovation to readers around the world. "Underground Kingdom" is not just a book; it's an adventure that continues to captivate new generations of readers, proving that some stories are truly timeless.
Personal Update: Full Swing into Basketball and Christmas Cheer
This past week has been a whirlwind! High school basketball broadcasting is now in full swing, and we had a whopping four games to cover. Late nights were the norm, but it’s all worth it to bring the excitement of these games to the airwaves.
On the home front, we wrapped up our Christmas shopping! I even took the kids out to pick gifts, which is always an adventure in itself. It was fun seeing their thoughtful (and sometimes hilarious) ideas for presents.
I also made some time for father-son bonding and took Iggy to see Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Watching his excitement was a highlight of the week.
Now that we’re fully into the Christmas season, it’s all about the traditions. I watched my annual go-to favorite, A Claymation Christmas Celebration, which never fails to bring a smile. I’ve also added a new tradition to the mix: Violent Night. It’s a wild, fun twist on holiday viewing that’s quickly become a favorite.
It’s been a busy but fulfilling week, filled with work, family, and holiday joy. Here’s to more of the same as we count down to Christmas! 🎄
