Updates on Our Vermont Town: Battling Historic Flooding and Basement Renovations

We're here with some personal updates, sharing the recent challenges we've faced in our Vermont town. Historic flooding wreaked havoc, causing significant damage and disrupting our daily lives. But amidst the chaos, we're progressing on our basement renovations.

Last week, our town experienced an unexpected and intense bout of flooding. The impact was unlike anything we've seen since Tropical Storm Irene. The Lamoille River overflowed, wreaking havoc along Route 15. Johnson Village, Cambridge, Morrisville, and other areas were submerged. The devastation surpassed our worst fears.

The floods had a profound impact on our water supply. The town's water became unsafe to drink, leaving us searching for alternatives. We had to pick up drinking water from the water department. The situation was so uncertain that we couldn't even use it for washing dishes.

Amidst the chaos of the floods, we're finding solace in our progress on our basement renovations. The recent developments include the installation of closets and lights. We're now just a step away from completing the drywall mudding for the closets. Once that's done, we can't wait to bring our personal touch to the space through painting.

These personal updates shed light on the challenges in our Vermont town. Historic flooding has disrupted our lives, from the devastating impact on our water supply to the damage caused by the overflowing river. However, we're not letting these setbacks dampen our spirits.

We got closets!
