Podcast Updates

This past week I was able to do 3 podcasts.

On Tuesday, I was excited to have with us, MM Dumas and Michael Waggoner, the creative team of the internationally acclaimed graphic novel, The Lucky Ones, a WW2 Comic Book about a squad of combat engineers.  It was very nice to see that they ended up having a successful Kickstarter campaign.

On Thursday, Krysta Crawford was the guest on our show. She is the acclaimed writer and artist of Wolf and I, She's here to talk about her latest Kickstarter: Wolf and I: Waves of Dissonance.  I had such a great time chatting with her. It was really fun and she had some great advice and stories to share

On Saturday I had the first interview in a series of chatting with game designers for role-playing games that use the Fate Core system mechanics. I had so much fun interviewing the internationally acclaimed game designer and owner of Shewstone Publishing, Andrew Gronosky!

He came to talk about his bestselling FATE Core system game, Magonomia!

Project Updates

This week, I worked a bit more on my ‘Appliance’ game.  I did some focusing on the first ideas of guilds within each family of objects in order to give players the ability to personalize more of their characters.  For example, the ‘Home’ family of objects which are appliances that exist inside a home can be split up into two guilds.  One focuses on food preparation, and the other focuses on cleaning and sanitation.

Here is a brief write-up that I have so far:

Mundare:  The Mundare Guild represents the objects who specialize in cleaning and sanitation.

Coctione:  The Coctione Guild represents the objects who specialize in the preparation and storage of raw and perishable food and non-perishable foods.

What I’m reading

This past week, I did more research on the Fate Core system.  I read the Fate System Toolkit which is another game-building supplement of Evil Hat Productions.  This was also a very helpful resource for building a game.

Although I do not plan on having magic used in my game, this does have a very robust explanation of how one would utilize a magic system inside a Fate Core system.

Personal Updates

We had some fun days off this week. On Monday, I had some daddy / daughers time and the three of us went to Clark’s Trading Post.  It is a fun little amusement park that is about 90 minutes away from us.

On Friday, the whole family went to Shelburne Museum which is a large museum here in Vermont with many, many buildings to explore.

As I get older, and watch the kids get older, these times are not going to last.  Memories and experiences are worth so much more that stuff.
