Podcast Updates

On Sunday I recorded an interview with Joseph Citro.  He was here to talk about his pandemic project book, ‘Loose Ends: Memories of a Life Not Yet Lived.’ We also discussed the recent releases of his enhanced editions of the “Vermont Monster Guide” and the “Vermont Ghost Guide”, and his upcoming yet unnamed horror comic book project with Robert Brunelle Jr.

On Tuesday, I was honored to have with us the internationally acclaimed Comic Consultant, Writer, and Illustrator, G.E. Gallas!  We had a great time chatting about her books, ‘Poet and the Flea’ Volume 1 and ‘The Plague and Doctor Caim”.  We also chatted about her chocolate business and her comic consultant work!

On Thursday we had back with us is the award-winning, artist, historian, cartoonist, and educator Robert Brunelle Jr for a third time.  He has received the elusive title of ‘Friend of the Show’.

We had a great time chatting with him regarding his new projects with Joseph Citro and his newest published work, ‘If Mr. Brunelle Were Drawn By...’

Project Updates

This was a slow week of projects as the day job took up a bulk of my mental energy.  When I went to pick up my artwork from the Emile Gruppe Gallery, one person commented on my larger picture, “Elizabear and the Bananas”.  I told her that it was from a children’s book I was working on.  She stated that she would love to read it someday.  It made me then want to pick up the idea once more.

As long as I get one children’s book written this year, I should be fine.

By the way… My Dad Joke book is available for purchase!

What I’m reading

I sat down and read Caleb Palmquist’s first foray into graphic novels with his book, ‘Small Favor’ volume 1.  It came out back in 2018 and the series was discontinued.  Caleb did like some aspects of the storyline and utilized some of them in ‘Vampire Detective in Space’ which he calls the spiritual successor of ‘Small Favor’.

I really enjoyed the multiple artists that came on to the project and it gave it an anthology feel even though it was written as a singular storyline.  There were great world-building and alien cultures created for the book and even though the story was abandoned, I am excited to see what parts of the concept of the series will turn up in ‘Vampire Detective in Space’

Personal Updates

Weather-wise, it has been some chilly days, I was unable to do much outside work.  I did get my annual physical done and my doctor was very pleased with my weight loss.  It is my goal to make sure I get down to my goal weight of 174 next time I see her.

I could say that it is rare to get some snow on the ground by the end of April, but I would be wrong.  Earlier this week we woke up with a dusting of snow on the ground.
