Podcast Updates
This past week I had two returning guests. On Sunday I chatted with the ever-creative game designer of Magonomia, Andrew Gronosky! We chatted about his latest supplement to his acclaimed game line. ‘A Bestiary of Enchanted England’ is a great addition to ‘Magonomia’!
We have such fun chatting about FATE Core and all kinds of monsters of the British Isles.
On Tuesday, Chris Sahloff came back on the show to discuss his latest adventure, ‘CRIT: Caffeinated Chaos’
I always enjoy chatting with Chris. He truly enjoys what he is doing and loves to share his work with everyone. It is always so fun to see where his characters go in his stories.
Project Updates
I spent a lot of time on the train this past week and was able to plug away more on my ‘Appliance’ game. I am inching into page 104 of the draft and am excited to see that I still have more space to go. I am going to be working on drafting some roll examples and some rules now in the next couple of weeks.
What I’m reading
This past week I read ‘Kerry and the Knight of the Forest’ by Andi Watson it was a delightfully thick YA graphic novel that reaches over 260 pages. The story is about a boy named Kerry who gets lost in the woods and a waystone helps him find his way out of the forest.
It is a good quest story that also serves as a Rite of Passage, but the twist is that it is not the boy who ends up changing in the end, but the Waystone who becomes changed.
I see this as a good message for kids, to let them know that sometimes youth is the teacher, and children can be wise in their optimism.
It is a fun read, and I would highly recommend it.
Personal Updates
This past week was a busy one, as I mentioned in the ‘Project Updates’, I spent some time on the train. I went to DC for my day job to do some advocacy work and decided to take the train round trip. It ended up being 12 hours down and 12 hours back. I was able to get a lot of writing done and to be honest, I enjoyed the minimal stress and ability to relax and work at a slower pace.
